Growing Good Corn
How is ur crop yield for year 2008?
James Bender, in his book "How to Talk Well" (New York: McGraw-Hill
Book Company, Inc., 1994) relates the story of a farmer who grew
award-winning corn. Each year he entered his corn in the state fair
where it won a blue ribbon. One year a newspaper reporter interviewed
him and learned something interesting about how he grew it.
The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his
neighbors. "How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your
neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each
year?" the reporter asked.
"Why sir," said the farmer, "didn't you know? The wind picks up pollen
from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my
neighbors grow inferior corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade
the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my
neighbors grow good corn."
He is very much aware of the connectedness of life. His corn cannot
improve unless his neighbor's corn also improves.
So it is in other dimensions. Those who choose to be at peace must help
their neighbors to be at peace. Those who choose to live well must help
others to live well, for the value of a life is measured by the lives it
touches. And those who choose to be joyful must help others to find
joy in God, for the good of each is bound up with the good of all.
The lesson for each of us is this: if we are to grow good corn, we must
help our neighbors grow good corn and spur and encourage each other towards goodness and good deeds.
Let us help one another draw closer to God as we desire to draw close to God! We are in the body of christ. And the greatest of all is LOVE that binds us all together. =)
1 Cor 12: 12 - 31
12The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13For we were all baptized by[c] one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
14Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
21The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" 22On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
27Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. 29Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31But eagerly desire the greater gifts.
Bless,
June (*@*)

With Everything
Open our eyes To see the things that make your heart cry
To be the church that you would desire
Your light to be seen
Break down our pride And all the walls we've built up inside
Our earthly crowns and all our desires
We lay at your feet
Let hope arise And darkness tremble
In your holy light That every eye will see
Jesus our God Great and mightly to be praised
God of all days Glorious in all of your ways
Oh The majesty the wonder and grace
In the light of Your name
With everything with everything
We will shout for your glory
With everything with everything
We will shout forth your praise
Our hearts they cry Be glorified
Be lifted high above all names For your our king
With everything We will shout forth your praise

Trying my best at work
In the past, the only way out for me to get rid of my anger is just simply scold them. Scolding is a straight forward and easy way out. By doing so, indeed I'm not trying my best to change and educate my students. A more proper way should be discipline together with counseling.
In school I really can't find time to sit down and talk to them, but God convicted me to still try my best to arrange to meet up with them.
For the past few days, I find myself being more patient to them and was able to talk to them more graciously. May God's spirit continue to guide me to grow myself in this virtue - patience. Please also pray together with me so that I will really love my students as how God love them.

My fav worship song this week
Here in My Life
I have never walked on water
Or felt the waves beneath my feet
but At your word Lord, i received your
Faith to walk on oceans deep
And i remember how you found me
In the very same place
All my failings surely would have drowned me
Still you made a way
You are my freedom
Jesus you're the reason
I'm kneeling again at your throne
Where would I be without you
Here in my life here in my life
You have said that all the heavens
Sing for joy at one who finds the
Way to freedom, truth of Jesus
Bought from death into his life
And I remember how you saw me
Through the eyes of your grace
And though the cost was your beloved for me
Still you made a way
You are my freedom
Jesus you're the reason
I'm kneeling again at your throne
Where would I be without you
Here in my life here in my life

The following are the lyrics of the Beijing Olympics theme song, entitled "You and Me". The song was sung by Chinese singer Liu Huan and British soprano Sarah Brightman at Friday's opening in the National Stadium.

You and me
From one world
We are family
Travel dream
A thousand miles
Meeting in Beijing
Come together
Put your hand in mine
You and me
From one world

Cosfest 2008
2006, I went for a cosfest event to support my fren who was part of the planning community. Cosfest was a mega event of cosplay, where alot of ppl will dress up like the characters in the animations. There are some competition where they will be judge according to how well they display their character traits, the story plots as well as teamwork. Winners will get free tickets to go Japan to compete in Japan's annual cosplay competition. That is how I got to know that Singapore also have such kind of interesting stuffs hee hee. This yr 2008, I also went down to support my fren who is still in the planning team, but I think generally the ppl who participated are newer hence their costumes are not very elaborated. And also I think the details like tattoos, features of the characters' face are also not very nicely done. 2006, there are 2 guys who cosplay as bleach character. They got the details very nicely done as well as the posture. They look as if they jump out of the animation... so they are very cool...

Best of American Idol latest Season
Hello CG,
This is a collection of performances from the latest American Idol Season. Know everybody probaby too busy to watch but this season is really not bad got quite a number of talented
singers. Here are the best 3 performers in my opinion.
1. David Cook - Hot Favourite to win this season along along with David Archuleta. This guy is
a rocker who stands out because he is able to re-arrange famous songs and make
them into unique new creations. You all must check out his version of Michael
Jackson's "Billie Jean" and Mariah Carey's "Always be my Baby".
Billie Jean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_aiawC-9aM
Always be my Baby http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8j0_qfxL-0
All I really need is you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDzPCKmxS0c
2. David Archuleta - Second Favourite to win this season. This kid is only 17 years old! Always
gets the female votes because he is young and cute and with the best voice
the competition has ever seen. His cover of Bryan Adam's "Heaven" really
moved my heart.
Heaven http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZX_3FkswVTM
Angels http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8RspJdOewQ
Imagine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIuMcL4Kz44
3. Michael Johns- This Australian singer was one of the favourites to win till he was shockingly
elimininated in the final 8. This guy deserved to go to the top 3 in my opinion
but guess American Idol voters dont like to vote for people not from their
country. Must check out Bohemian Rhapsody!
Bohemian Rhapsody http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUfE993iucg
Its all wrong but its alright http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ptwtwbxtytk
Dream On http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXF3K23d_WU&feature=related
Dream on was his final performance on the show thats why can see he quite emotional, can see
the other contestants quite shocked as well.
I will post another link. This is a studio recording he did for "Dream On". My current favourite song now!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPDZ-dC2LmI&feature=related
Dream On
Everytime that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face gettin clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dust to dawn
Isnt that the way
Everybodys got their dues in life to pay
I know what nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know its everybodys sin
You got to lose to know how to win
Half my life is in books written pages
Live and learn from fools and from sages
You know its true
All the things come back to you
Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, if its just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away(x2)
Dream on, dream on
Dream yourself a dream come true
Dream on, dream on Dream until your dream come true
Dream on, dream on, dream on...
Sing with me, sing for the years Sing for the laughter and sing for the tears
Sing with me, if its just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away

Building Convenant Relationship
Dear CG,
I was doing my reflection thru a Christian article and somehow God brought me flashbacks on the Healthy relationship seminar as well as the recent CG discussion that we had at Centrepoint. I thank God for speaking deeply to my life...
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NKJV)
People in every culture need relationships of intimate trust. Everyone needs friends with whom they can be open and reveal their deepest feelings. God created everyone to want to belong, to accomplish, to understand and to be understood. He made us to need love, self-respect, meaning and purpose. We are living in the world with rampant emotional and psychological problems. Our world has become more and more individualistic. Many Christians do not have fellow brothers and sisters in which they can really confide and pour their hearts out. This in fact stunts their spiritual growth. Developing relationships, especially for people in the ministry, is very important and may be the key to longevity in ministry. We too need friends in our ministry. We need friends to keep us accountable. We need friends to share our burden and joy. We need friends to share our deepest secrets without fear of being condemned. If we are to have longevity in our ministry, we need to start to make some friends and build covenant relationship with them.
Looking back at my life, haha what an irony..I realised that the more I know about God's precepts and receiving teachings about relationship, the more I dun know about it and the more I am relearning them...
People has been giving me feedback that I am a person that always shares thru my mind and that I do somewhat possesses a good perspective about matters (well..depending sometimes my radar can be very off :P) ; but It seems that I always suppressed my emotions and do not readily share what I feel. Maybe it is true and maybe it is not, I am not sure. I always thought that emotions should always be balanced by thinking and maintained by God's Word...Furthermore, My life experiences and my upbringing has probably conditioned me to process my feelings into thinking at the first instinct.
At the core of myself, I am actually a person that thinks and feels alot (whether it is fruitful or not is another matter altogether.) Many times I do withhold from sharing the raw essence of how I feel because I think that it doesn't help or sharing it is an overkill to people in situations. (Your might be surprised by how wild my passing thoughts can be.) To me, I perceived that as sort of a balance. I always looked at relationship with people, issues and problems to be solved rather than that as a process in itself. But as time passes by, it becomes more apparent to me that holding on to that mindset makes me gradually lose sight of how people actually feels and that implicitly, people feel that I am a guarded person. Most imortantly, I am gradually losing touch of my emotions. I prob will lose out on "potentially" deeper friendship and relationships.
God, I prayed for you to help me get more connected with people and worked towards building a deeper convenant relationship with people around me, to understand them for who they are. Widen my emotional spectum by deepening my understanding of your love in the bible. :)

Chinese Music inspired by Jesus
Hey guys
Have you been noticing commercials on bus, mrt, bus-stop, taxis, music advertisements - i think its literally everywhere of our new singaporean singer: Hagen Chen Mengqi. He is one of the superstar top 10 finalists. Previous impression of him is = He spent $300 000 on advertisements for his own album publicity: wah so rich! Even jay chou also dun have as many publicity as him = maybe he does not need, his name alone attracts! =P
So, why do i bring up this?? Cos i finally went to his website today after seeing his advertisements everywhere! What i discover is.........he is a christian and every piece of his music in his current album is inspired by Jesus and talks about his relationship and heartbeat of God. And as i was reading his biography = its a long list of chinese characters leh, he really testify of God working in his and his family's life v.vividly. I was v.touched.
You can listen to the songs on his album through the website and read about him. Hope you are inspired as me. =)
Do go into www.mengqi.com.sg

My test result ~_^
Haha... so late liao, i'm so on'z to do personality test? no la, actually i'm in the midst of waiting for my animae to finish downloading (server so slow... o.OIII), nothing to do so try the test lor... :p
"ISTJs are very loyal, faithful, and dependable. They place great importance on honesty and integrity. They are "good citizens" who can be depended on to do the right thing for their families and communities. While they generally take things very seriously, they also usually have an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun - especially at family or work-related gatherings."

Its about me! (*@*)
Hi
June here. Aiyoyo, this personality test is interesting, b4 i do it, i already guess i am a Dreamer!! Yeah! Wan shui!!
And dreamers are rare in the whole world, which makes them rare and good..hehe..kidding. =p In CNY mood n i officially no sore throat now, thank God! =)
INFPs are introspective, private, creative and highly idealistic individuals that have a constant desire to be on a meaningful path. They are driven by their values and seek peace. Empathetic and compassionate, they want to help others and humanity as a whole. INFPs are imaginitive, artistic and often have a talent for language and writing. They can also be described as easygoing, selfless, guarded, adaptable, patient and loyal. Looks like i am in the right career. =)
Just sharing this:
A remarkable phone call from a 12-yr old boy to Houston Christian radio station KSBJ FM 89.3. So profound, the station has it posted on their website. Click below to listen to it. It's short ……but very meaningful for such a boy to say things like this.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=zCdZwitrNoY
Its so sweet. God bless ur week ahead!
Btw, your been eating ur daily bread?? Had a refreshing time with God today reading the book of Ruth. She is my idol. =P

I'm an entertainer, don't quite like the term, anyway...
I did my personality and multiple intelligence test and below is my result:
ESFPs are cooperative, "here and now" people-persons that enjoy excitement and love new adventures. Because of their highly social nature, they are especially lively when they are the center of attention and hate being alone. ESFPs have a practical side that allows them to finish work efficiently and are often good problem solvers.

Jinghe's Personality Test
Hi CG~~
I took and find this personality test very interesting! How about we all take it and see for each other's test? The test is available at http://www.mypersonality.info/personality-types/infp/
ESTPs are action-loving, "here and now" realists with excellent people skills. Informal, risk-taking, fast-paced and adaptable, they are not always in agreeance with rules and regulations. They are tactical problem solvers that desire quick results. ESTPs, who present a friendly and enthusiastic face, are straightshooters that are able to handle criticism. "Enthusiastic and excitable, ESTPs are "doers" who live in the world of action. Blunt, straight-forward risk-takers, they are willing to plunge right into things and get their hands dirty. They live in the here-and-now, and place little importance on introspection or theory. The look at the facts of a situation, quickly decide what should be done, execute the action, and move on to the next thing."
I guess somewhat it is quite representative of me. One thing I see out of this is that I should learn to slow things down at times and reflect more deeply before I execute plans and as well as being more aware of how people may feel.. :)
